Computing Resources

The Center for Computing and Computer Modeling (Centrum Obliczeń i Modelowania Komputerowego) at Jan Kochanowski University (UJK) provides computational resources for scientific and engineering research. The Center operates a high-throughput computing (HTC) cluster running on Linux. The cluster currently offers 1,000 CPU cores and is suited to workloads such as large-scale simulations, parameter sweeps, data analysis, and large numbers of parallel jobs. Job scheduling and resource management are handled by HTCondor, a queue system designed to distribute high volumes of computational tasks across the cluster. Planned developments include additional CPU cores, GPU support, and support for application containers such as Docker and Apptainer. These additions will extend the cluster’s capabilities to areas such as machine learning and other GPU-accelerated computation, while giving users greater flexibility in packaging and running their software environments. For information on access and usage, please contact the Center.
